About Us

With more than 12 years' experience in print and web design, we deliver well-thought-out design products for nonprofit clients, government agencies, and for-profit corporations.

We are a small firm, and you'll always work with owner and designer Amy Wajda to make sure every facet of your project shines through.

We combine a foundation in print design with the technical knowledge and aptitude required for effective digital media design. We're always happy to translate the "hows" and "whys" of design and production for our clients.

In fact, our approach can be as comprehensive as you need—whether that includes brainstorming and planning your design project; helping you manage the process; researching additional products or services; brokering print and editing services; or making sure every detail of the final product is just right. Takoma Design can help.

We are proud of our fierce attention to detail, and aren't afraid to dive into the details of your job to make sure that everything is as it should be.

About Amy Wajda

Founder and designer Amy Wajda started working in print design and production in 1994 at a higher education association in Washington, D.C.

In 1997, she added web design and production to her portfolio while working at publishing house Teaching Strategies, Inc., where she managed the launch of the company's first web site while simultaneously supervising design and production of all print publications and managing the company's Mac-based network! Suffice to say she is not afraid of whatever technical details might arise in the course of your project.

Subsequently, she spent six years as print designer and lead web designer at ERG, Inc., a multi-disciplinary consulting firm.

In 2005 she started Takoma Design, and enjoys working with a range of clients.
