Client: The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) represents the national network of more than 800 state, local, and tribal agencies providing programs and services to older adults. n4a's members help older adults and people with disabilities live with dignity and choices in their homes and communities for as long as possible.
Project: n4a uses its annual report to showcase its members' work and how its work supports those members. Each spread highlights efforts to address specific needs of older adults, such as combating social isolation and providing transporation. The report also promotes positive messages around aging at home. n4a's primary audience tends to respond well to printed materials, so n4a strives for a photo-rich report that can still accommodate detailed text.
Solution: We designed a report that clearly leads the reader through the links between older adults' needs and the work of n4a and its members. We researched photos—from n4a's in-house collection and standard stock photo sites—that show older adults in candid moments that reflect the realities of aging while maintaining a positive tone.
